Stuff I Love Saturday - Books for The Brilliant, Cocktail Recipes, and The Meaning of Life

I had a series for a few weeks last year that was "Things I Love Thursdays" and while that was a bunch of fun, it kind of fizzled out because Thursday tend to be a super busy day for me... but now that I'm trying to implement more time for me, I'm ready to bring back a little bit of fun to the blog and what better day to share a bunch of fun than SATURDAY?! I'm going to share Stuff I Love on Saturday's everyday for the rest of the year, whether it's a quote, an upcoming event, new fashion trends, my favorite techie bits, or whatever... You'll find my favorites here.

The meaning to life is....

“Life has no meaning. Each of us has meaning and we bring it to life. It is a waste to be asking the question when you are the answer.”
—Joseph Campbell

The fact that The Age of Adaline comes out in less than a week is definitely something I love!

This list of eight books every intelligent person on the planet should read. Neil deGrasse Tyson, the champion of science and celebrator of the cosmic perspective, recommends these books to gain insight into most of what has driven the history of the western world. Looks like I have some reading to do!

This headboard tutorial has really knocked my socks off, I must make my own soon:

Lastly, I'll leave you with this list of 78 cocktail recipes every party monster (or casual drinker) should know how to make! Maybe you can give one of these a try tonight! I'll take an espresso martini, if you're offering!

Let's get to know each other! Leave a comment telling me some of your favorites from the week or share a link to a recent post about stuff you love!

#TILT - Apparently it's Turquoise Thursday for this girl!

I love this upcycled pallet idea form Beyond the Picket Fence!

This gorgeous pattern doesn't have a source, found it on pinterest.
If you know it's source, let me know and I'll gladly fix it! :)

This website turns any quote into a "masterpiece".
I love it!

This cake is so awesome, I want it for every occasion for the rest of my life! :)

These emerald druzy necklaces on etsy caught my eye, so dreamy!

I know mason jar crafts have been around forever,
but I'm really digging some of the things I've seen done with them lately...
This set of Hanging Blue Mason Jars would be so fun for a patio/garden area.

Things I love Thursday: It's my first time...

I feel like I don't do enough "regular" posting lately,
so from now on I'm going to do a "Things I love Thursday" post.

I find stuff all over the internet that I think everyone should know about,
why not share it here?

I'll be posting videos, photos, links, etc and obviously giving credit where credit is due!

So here are a few of my favorite things: (this week)

Love sites like these!

This quote: "To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
